This concert will feature three remarkable winners of the Young Concert Artist International Competitions: Chelsea Guo, soprano and piano; Erin Wagner, mezzo-soprano; and Joseph Parrish, bass-baritone accompanied by Ye In Kwak, piano.

The Isidore String Quartet cultivates joyful, accessible, and intimate experiences that create community through in-depth relationships and explore the power of the collective to uplift the individual. The Quartet’s philosophy is to “approach the established as if it were brand new, and the new as if it were firmly established.”

Ames Town & Gown has invited five outstanding musicians with strong ties to Ames to reconnect and perform for us. We welcome back Sarah Shin, flute; Maureen Hurd Hause, clarinet; Caleb Hans Polashek, violin; Yeil Park, cello; and Aaron Lott, piano.

Our unique fundraiser offers a sparkling musical collage featuring an array of central Iowa’s most talented performers from the community at large and Iowa State University.  A sumptuous buffet of gourmet delicacies and warm camaraderie follow the concert.  “My favorite night of the year!” exclaims one audience member.

Zhenni Li-Cohen has been hailed as “a magnetic pianist -- with fire and poetry,” “an artist … who fascinates even as she provokes,” and “a thrillingly good pianist.” Her solo recital will bring riches from different cultures, reflecting her amazing life story, broad interests, and talents.

Kevin Zhu’s astonishing technical mastery and artistic sensibility have earned him major honors and accolades worldwide. Praised for his “awesome technical command and maturity” and “absolute virtuosity, almost blinding in its incredible purity,” Kevin has performed on the world’s largest stages.
